Our Assessment: This is a Smith and Wesson Model 940 Centennial Stainless double action only revolver. It is chambered for 9mm Parabellum, has a 3” barrel and a five round cylinder, and the cylinder is relieved for full moon clips, two of which are provided with this revolver. The pistol is in about Excellent condition with about 99% of its original finish remaining. It has a very light drag line in the cylinder and a few light marks scattered around the barrel, the left side of the frame, the top strap and the sideplate. The grips are checkered walnut that show a few tiny dings. The checkering is sharp with no mars. The bore is bright with sharp rifling. The revolver comes in its original factory box with factory cleaning equipment and paperwork. This is a great looking revolver that looks as though it was shot only a few times and then locked back up for the next twenty years, taken out of the safe only to be cleaned and oiled. This gun is perfect for someone who collects S&W revolvers – a nice looking revolver that was only made for about 7 years with its factory box and accessories. if the collectors don’t pay enough attention, then someone is going to get a chance at a great looking J framed S&W double action only revolver chambered in 9mm Parabellum that will be great for concealed carry and can also be used for home protection. This revolver has a cylinder relieved (by the factory) for the use of full moon clips, which will make quick tactical reloads possible. With its perfect bore and tight cylinder lockup, this revolver should last for a lifetime of shooting enjoyment.
