Our Assessment: As its name might suggest, the Europa was intended for the European sporting market, produced in West Germany by Sauer on the Weatherby Mark V action. This rifle features the capped, skip-line checkered stock of the Mark V Deluxe with express iron sights and a quick detatch mount holding a Nickel Supra 1,5-6x scope. A fantastic rifle chambered in the fantastic .300 Weatherby Magnum, this rifle can be used to hunt anything in North America or Europe and was the preferred hunting rifle and round of famed hunter Elgin Gates and Safari Club International founder C.J. McElroy. Manufactured by the renowned J.P. Sauer in West Germany in 1966, this rifle still has a beautiful stock and nice finish with a bright bore and sharp rifling. It is a beautiful marriage of an American action and cartridge design with European aesthetic and optics. Please see our photos and good luck!
