Markings: The left side of the slide is marked “”Clark” LONG SLIDE .45 / KEITHVILLE, LA. 71047″, the bottom, inside of the slide is marked “633 / E. CLARK / SHREVEPORT, LA / 1163”. The right side of the frame is marked “292633-C”. The right of the trigger guard is marked “4”, the left is marked “E” at the front and “VP” in triangle at the rear. The left of the frame has “WWS” scratched into it between the dust cover and the slide stop.

Barrel Length: 6 1/4”

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a patridge style blade integral to a serrated base fixed to the front of the slide. The rear sight is a Bomar square notch adjustable for windage and elevation fixed to the rear of the slide.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are two-piece full checkered oil-finished walnut. The grips have no notable damage, only light handling wear. The checkering is well defined. There are no chips or cracks. Overall, the grips are in about Fine condition.

Type of Finish: Blue

Finish Originality: The slide’s finish is original to Clark Custom. The frame is likely original.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore.

Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 87% of its metal finish. The finish is thinning at most edges. The flats of the slide have some scattered light scuffs with a line of faint discoloration where the slide has been extended. The frame has light handling wear in the front and backstrap with sharp stippling on the fronstrap. The screw heads are tool marked with strong slots. The pin heads are unmarred. The markings are clear. Overall, this pistol is in about Very Good condition as customized.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The trigger is crisp. The slide to frame fit is quite tight. We did not fire this handgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This pistol comes with one 7-round magazine with floorplate marked “COLT / 45 AUTO” with an “M” and a rampant colt. The magazine has operational wear on the body, intact feed lips and a strong spring, in about Very Good-Fine overall condition.

Our Assessment: Built on a Colt Government frame and with Colt’s slide, this pistol went to Clark’s Custom and has a number of upgrades over the standard Government model including extended slide and 6 1/4″ barrel, adjustable target sights, and frontstrap stippling. The slide weld job is typical of Clark Custom’s quality with the weld-line faintly visible. This is a beautiful long-slide that would make a great pistol for bowling-pin matches, Steel Challenge or just recreational target shooting. Please see our photos and good luck!
