Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked “301049” (the barrel blank serial number). The left side of the receiver is marked “ACCURACY INTERNATIONAL ENGLAND” under the finish and “AINA FREDERICKSBURG VA” over the finish. The right side of the receiver is marked “AE MKIII 16332″ under the finish and with a London proof house mark over the finish which appears again on the bolt head. The back of the bolt body is marked “16332” and the safety assembly is marked “16332” both over the finish. The baseplate of the magazine is marked with Accuracy International’s “AI” monogram logo.

Sights / Optics: There is no provision for iron sights. The rifle is mounted with a picatinny rail mount on the top of the receiver

Stock Configuration &; Condition: The stock is a dark earth polymer over an alloy bedding block with thumbhole grip, folding stock, adjustable cheekpiece, insert-adjustable LOP, two sling-mounts on each side at the butt and front of the forend, another sling mount point on the right side at the wrist, one sling/bipod mount on the bottom at the front of the forend and one QD bipod mount on the front face of the forend. The butt has a thick black rubber recoil pad attached which is marked “AI”. The stock has light wear at the front of the forend on the bottom from folding the bipod legs backward to contact the stock, a small mark to the left of the magazine well and very light scuffing in the grip. The rifle does not appear to have been used much. The LOP measures 12 5/8” from the trigger to the back of the recoil pad as currently configured. Also included are one 3/8″, one 3/4″ and one 1 1/2” spacers. The stock rates in about Excellent overall condition.

Finish Originality: Original

Bore Condition: The bore is Bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion.

Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 97% of its metal finish. The balance of the finish shows light operational wear on the bolt and action, light sling wear on the wrist sling mount point as well as very light wear on the scope mount from previous scope installation. The gun does not appear to have been used much. There are a few scatted scratches. The screw heads are Sharp. The markings are Clear. Overall, this rifle rates in about Excellent condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We have not fired this rifle. As with all previously owned firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Box, Paperwork &; Accessories: Included with the rifle are the stock spacers and extra bolts for use with longer LOP, user manual, and a 6-9″ Atlas bipod with Accuracy International spigot QD mount which shows light operational wear in about Fine-plus condition. Installed is one 5-round magazine, no noticeable wear, in Excellent condition.

Our Assessment: The original AE model was a simple, 24″ or 20″ fixed stock rifle created at the behest of military, law enforcement, and commercial customers who wanted Accuracy International quality with perhaps fewer options at a more modest price. The AE line quickly added the MKII which had options for a threaded 20″ barrel and a folding stock. The MK III added an upgraded three-position safety which allows for safe with operable bolt and safe with the bolt locked. This example is a MK III with a threaded barrel with brake installed, folding stock, and an Atlas bipod. The rifle is in Excellent condition with signs of light and responsible use. Accuracy International’s quality is well known, this rifle ought to be an easy sub-MOA shooter with some users reporting sub-1/2 MOA performance. Please see our photos and good luck!
