Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked “Gary Reeder / Ultimate Vaquero”. The left side of the frame is marked “RUGER VAQUERO / .45 CAL.” The right side of the frame is marked “57-92443 / Shooters Package”. “S” is stamped into the rear face of the cylinder.
Barrel Length: 5 1/2” Round
Sights / Optics: The front sight is a stainless curved blade fixed to the barrel. The rear sight is a square notch milled into the top strap.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are custom-fit two-piece smooth wood. There is a small bruise on the bottom-rear of the left panel and light handling marks. There are no chips or cracks. Overall, the grips are in about Fine condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore.
Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 95% of its metal finish. The barrel has light marks on the bottom from the removal of the base-pin and scattered tiny spots of discoloration, found again on the frame at the front of the topstrap and the bottom in front of the grip frame as well as on the grip frame behind the front screw and at the front of the butt. The cylinder has a light, incomplete turn line. The trigger guard has light marks on its bottom. The grip screw is sharp, the pin heads are unmarred. The markings are clear. Overall, this handgun rates in about Fine condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly, the cylinder lock up is tight. The trigger is crisp. The action is smooth. We did not fire this handgun.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This revolver comes in a gray plastic Ruger box which is unlabeled. The box has little to no wear in about Excellent condition.
Our Assessment: The Ruger Vaquero is the pistol of choice among the top cowboy shooters. It resembles the Single Action Army, but is made to Ruger’s rigorous standards and is equipped with Ruger’s transfer bar safety system. Old Model Vaqueros are built on the Blackhawk frame and are a little bigger than the Colt Single Action Army and also the New Model Vaqueros, an attribute which many cowboy shooters find appealing. This stainless steel Old Model Vaquero is in Fine condition and has been customized by Gary Reeder Custom Guns wiht a bisley-style hammer, round-butt grip frame and custom fitted grips, vapor hone finish, replacement knurled base-pin and a smooth action with a crisp trigger. Marked as both “Ultimate Vaquero” and “Shooters Package”, this revolver has been provided with some of the finest gunsmithing offered for Ruger Vaqeros. Please see our photos and good luck!
