Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked “PERFORMANCE CENTER”. The yoke cut is marked “MBR0045 / 629-6”. The yoke is marked “141”. The left side of the frame has a S&W Performance Center logo. The left side of the grip frame is marked “D5” while the underside is marked “MBR0045”. The right side of the grip frame is marked “141 / 24898”. The right side of the frame has the four line “Marcas Registradas” address. The right side of the barrel is marked “44 MAGNUM”.
Barrel Length: 7 ½”
Sights / Optics: The revolver is mounted with a drift adjustable red ramp front sight in a dovetail. There is a white outline square notch micrometer click adjustable rear sight. There is a picatinny rail integral to the barrel and shroud.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are black rubber finger groove Hogue Mono-grips with molded in S&W logos. There are no notable scratches, chips or cracks. The grips rate in about Fine overall condition.

Finish Originality: All Original
Bore Condition: The bore is lightly fouled near the forcing cone with what appears to be lead and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion.
Overall Condition: This revolver retains about 95% of its metal finish. There are several tones of stainless steel on this gun. There are light drag marks on the unfluted cylinder and there are some marks on the side plate beneath the top of the grip. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this gun rates in about Fine to Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly in both single and double action. There is a smooth trigger and a checkered hammer. This gun has a lock just above the the cylinder release latch. There is a full length underlug that houses a series of barrel weights. We have not fired this gun.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: There is a Performance Center attaché style locking case. The case is in Fine condition, without dents or notable scratches and has a large gold colored S&W Performance Center medallion on the top lid. There are however, some minor use marks visible on the exterior. The interior is gray egg crate foam. There are six barrel weights and a barrel weight wrench provided in addition the ones visible on the gun. There are two keys for the revolvers locking mechanism. The owner’s manual and product registration card are provided in Excellent condition along with a paper explaining how to change the combination on the case.
Our Assessment: The Performance Center of Smith & Wesson builds some of the best revolvers being made. This particular example would be excellent for handgun hunting or even for bowling pin shooting. It is equipped with good adjustable iron sights and is also ready for optics with the built in picatinny rail.
