Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked “PYTHON .357 / * .357 MAGNUM CTG. *”. The right side of the barrel is marked “COLT’S PT. F.A. MFG. CO. / HARTFORD, CONN. U.S.A.”. The flat under the crane and the crane are marked with the serial number. The left side plate is marked with a “Rampant Colt” logo. The left front of the trigger guard is marked with “VP” in a triangle and at the rear with “6”.

Sights / Optics: This revolver is mounted with a square notched rear sight adjustable for windage and elevation that is pinned to the top strap of the frame. The front sight is a serrated ramp blade pinned to the top of the rib. The top of the barrel rib and the top strap have a matte finish to reduce glare.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are oversized checkered rubber with the Colt medallions on either side. There is little noticeable wear to the checkering. The panels fit together Fine overall, the seam is visible and has a few raised areas. Overall the rubber grips are extremely durable, there is no indication of misuse or rough handling. The grips have no chips or cracks. The grips are in about Excellent condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion.
Overall Condition: This revolver retains about 99% of its finish. No gun is never unfired, everything gets tested at the factory. No gun is ever unturned either, as dealers and collectors have to confirm serial numbers and there is always the proper safe handling practice of presenting someone a firearm open for inspection. That is what wear is exhibited on this firearm. General light handling and operational marks from function testing and safe handling. We would be surprised to learn that this gun was shot by the previous owner. There are very light surface scratches from cleaning. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this gun rates in about Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We have not fired this revolver.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: Colt letter, factory box, and outer sleeve. The outer sleeve has been repaired/protected with clear tape. The end label matches and appropriate for the age of the gun.
Our Assessment: If you ever wanted a Bright Stainless gun then this one should be at the top of your watch list. The gun is bright, reflecting all the light and any colors in the room. Outside on a sunny day, you are almost guaranteed to need sun tanning lotion and sunglasses. The gun is beautiful, just lightly molested by the abrasive terry towel, but easily gets overlooked. Have fun bidding, this gun is CA PPT OK!
