Our Assessment: The Colt 1911 is the best gun ever made. The gun has been presented to presidents, carried by Medal of Honor recipients and Generals since about 1912. It is used to this day in competition and on duty. There has never been a more effective or reliable platform built for a semi-auto pistol, explaining why the pistol is issued to this day, 106 years after invention. The series 70’s are probably the most highly regarded of all the 1911’s. The finish is extremely rare and to have such a high condition with original box makes this pistol even more Special.
