Markings: The left side of the frame is marked “OPERATOR / CAL .45 / TRP”, the right side is marked “TRP / SPRINGFIELD ARMORY” with Springfield’s crossed cannon logo. The left side of the frame is marked “TACTICAL”, the right side is marked “SPRINGFIELD / GENESEO IL USA / 198779”. The left side of the rear sight is marked “SPRINGFIELD ARMORY” The barrel is marked “S.A. .45 ACP”.

Sights / Optics: This pistol is mounted with the factory Fully Adjustable, 3-Dot Tritium sights. The sights still have a nice bright glow.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The grip panels appear to be factory, but they are not the G-10 Composite. They appear to be SA wood grips that were impregnated with sandpaper grit. Very tacky, they have started to rub to bare wood in places. The grips rate in about Fine overall condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore. Ther is some stubborn fouling in the grooves

Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 98% of its metal finish. There are extremely light scuffs and scratches in sporadic areas throughout the slide and frame. There is very light wear from interacting metal components. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are crisp. Overall, this handgun rates in about Excellent condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this handgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards. From http://www.tactical-life.com/combat-handguns/springfield-trp-45acp/ : “According to Williams, Springfield TRP production starts in a similar manner as the Professional. The gunsmith receives a semi-finished, hand-forged National Match frame and slide, and individually cut the rails, drill the pinholes, and fit the slide by hand lapping it to the frame. The result of this attention is a slide to frame fit that has zero vertical or horizontal play. The TRP has a match-grade Springfield barrel that is fitted to a match-grade bushing making the pistol more than capable of providing superb accuracy and reliability. The match grade trigger is aluminum and fitted with an overtravel stop. As with the Professional, the TRP features a magazine well extension, checkered front strap, beavertail grip safety, and ambidextrous extended safety.” This pistol has all that has just been described and a full length guide rod currently installed.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: Two 7 round magazines. One has a rubber extension/ Bumper installed. The other has the holes drilled for a bumper, but nothing currently installed. There are the original parts, guide rod and plug, as photographed. There is some paperwork from the factory and blue plastic bag. The case is Springfield factory and numbers to the gun.

Our Assessment: This is a beautiful, Springfield Tactical Response Operator with a full rail. This pistol look mean and ready for business. This one has a few upgrades that make this an incredibly tight pistol with a great feel. The only thing the pistol would need in our opinion is a new set of grips. The bore is nice, the mechanics are smooth. The full rail gives a bit of weight to the front, but easily goes unnoticed in a draw.
