The grip screws are sharp, the slide markings are shallow but legible the rest are clear. Overall, this pistol rates in about Excellent condition.

Mechanics: As sourced from our consignor, the pistol was customized by Richard Heinie with his custom target sights, a Briley match barrel, spherical inserted barrel bushing, Ed Brown safety & beavertail grip safety, custom trigger, spherical bushing, a custom magazine release button, 20 LPI checkering on the grip strap and mainspring housing, with a rounded profile to the trigger guard, adding 30LPI up front. The safety is ambidextrous, the hammer is skeletonized and the trigger can be adjusted. The ejection port was lowered and flared. The trigger breaks around 4lb 10oz. We did not fire this pistol. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This pistol comes with a total of three un-branded but high quality 8-round stainless magazines, with black base plates. The magazines have light wear, all in Excellent condition.

Our Assessment: The 1911 and 1911-A1 pistols served the military of the United States from 1911 to 1985, through two World Wars and the Korean and Vietnam wars. They gained a reputation as a reliable handgun with plenty of stopping power, and are held in high regard by all of those who used them. This is a heavily customized Richard Heinie take on the design, with high end parts, target sighted slide and hard chrome frame. Hard chrome is one of the toughest finishes you could ever apply to a pistol, this satin finished HC will reduce glare while protecting the frame. The slide to barrel fit is very tight, the trigger is crisp and the mechanics are fluid. The slide is assisted with its spherical brass inserted barrel bushing. The bore is bright with sharp rifling and the grips are hand cut double diamond rosewood. This is a very nice looking pistol (Please see the pictures) that is perfect for home protection and duty carry, though it can also be used for combat matches out at the range and for SASS Wild Bunch side matches. These scare pistols don’t come through from Heinie too often, here is your chance to get in on a BEAUTIFUL 1911A1 that would be hard to reproduce; it is also good for a California PPT.
