The right of the frame is marked “28341A” with another nitro proof, seen again on the barrel with “68” date code and Ulm antler. The factory box reflects the correct serial number.

The grips are free of major damages, rating in Fine Plus and Excellent overall condition.

Finish Originality: All Original

Bore Condition: The bore is mirror bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion or signs of much use outside of the factory, if any at all.

Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 98% of its metal finish. The grip straps have edge rubbing and light surface etching, though not of any concerning depth or abundance. The pistol appears to have been stored nearly all of its life with infrequent handling. The slide serrations are sharp, the barrel is free of extensive operational wear. The grip screw is sharp and the markings are clear. Overall, this handgun rates in about Excellent condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. This pistol has a de-cocker in lieu of a traditional safety. The double action trigger pull is a little stiff and the single action pull has a small amount of creep. We did not fire this handgun.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This pistol comes with two factory magazines with black finger extensions, they come wrapped in factory wax paper, in the original serialized factory box, topped with an owner’s manual, takedown tool and brass cleaning rod. The items show little to no wear, the box has a few lightly rubbed areas from storage. All in Excellent condition.

Our Assessment: This Walther PP was made in West Germany in 1968, still matched with its factory box and two factory magazines. It is perfect for concealed carry, .380 ACP can be found in most gun stores and is enough to do the job with modern powder and ballistic technologies. Anyone doubting .380 has probably never volunteered to try its effect, it served in both world wars and is still a respected cartridge to this day. The collectors will take interest in this high condition example.
