Markings: The left side of the slide is marked “45 ACP”, the right is marked “BAER / CUSTOM”. The right side of the frame is marked “LES BAER CUSTOM / HILLSDATE IL USA / LBC10959″. The barrel is marked “BAER .45 MATCH”. The left of the rear sight is marked “LES BAER CUSTOM”. The factory box reflects the pistol’s serial and model number.

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a black Patridge blade, with a serrated rear face, dovetailed onto the slide. The rear sight is a “LBC” (Les Baer Custom) square notched, rear serrated target profile sight, adjustable for windage and elevation, dovetailed onto the slide.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are beautiful checkered rosewood panels that are free from any notable damages outside of a few extremely light pressure marks on a few of the checker tips, looking to have been incurred from storage or light handling; there are no cracks or major damages. The grips rate in about Excellent overall condition.

Bore Condition: The match grade barrel’s bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore.
Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 99% of its metal finish. There is light scuffing under the slide stop on the left of the frame, a few other scuffs are found, but are mostly unnoticed, as they are very light; the pistol looks to have been used infrequently outside of the factory testing and was well taken care of in the interim. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are crisp. Overall, this handgun rates in about Excellent Plus condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The slide has solid fit to the frame, the action glides with fluidity. The controls are similar to Colt’s famous 1911 design. The trigger is crisp, breaking around 4lbs 3oz. Page 18 of the included marketing pamphlet indicates the following: “Baer forged steel NM frame, NM slide and NM barrel with Baer stainless bushing. Slide fitted to frame. Double Serrated Slide. LBC Adjustable deluxe low mount rear sight with hidden rear leaf. Baer dovetail front sight. Baer beavertail grip safety w/pad. Baer checkered slide stop. Tuned Baerel extractor. Baer ramp and throated barrel. Baer flat serrated mainspring housing. Beveled magazine well. Baer extended ambi safety. Baer fitted speed trigger with action job. Baer premium checkered cocobolo (rosewood in this case) grips. Tuned for total reliability”, with a guarantee of 3″ groups at 50 yards. We did not fire this handgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: Included is the pistol’s original cardboard box with serialized end label reflecting the model. The box has some bend marks and compression from storage with no major damages, in Excellent condition. Also included is one 8 round stainless magazine, product guide, disassembly manual and other factory paperwork, along with a clear plastic bag, all are in Excellent condition.
Our Assessment: Founded in 1991, Les Baer’s company needs no introduction, especially upon first sight of their product line. Known for being some of the most coveted modern 1911’s on the market, the title comes deservedly, backed by professional shooters, law enforcement agents and anyone who has ever held their pistols; guaranteed capable of 3″ groups at 50 yards, you don’t have to be a pro to group impressively. This Concept V is simply beautiful; for a 16 year old match grade pistol, it has survived in impeccable condition. Words don’t do this one justice aesthetically and when it comes to custom features, even the most demanding firearm owner would be happy to even handle this pistol.
