More Flight Jackets

This is an incredible grouping of waist Gunner James “John” F. Warner of “Wabbit Twacks”. Recipient of the Distinguished flying Cross, Silver Star, Purple Heart & Air Medal with Clusters. The Jacket is original but for the knit elements, and is accompanied by a grouping of documentation and newspaper articles to this decorated B17 Waist Gunner.

Warner shot down a German fighter in 1943, completed 25 missions during the early stages of the war, and was credited with saving the plane and crew of Wabbit Twacks. Articles about his experiences are below…
