Action Type: Lever Action, Tube Magazine Fed Rifles.

Markings: The left side of the barrels are marked “WINCHESTER / MADE IN U.S.A. / 30-30”, with a circled “WP” proof on the top of the barrel, the right is marked “Canadian Centennial 1867-1967” in cursive, with gold filling. The flanks of the receiver have engravings of maple leafs on branches, the underside of the receivers are marked with the serial number, the upper tangs are marked “CANADIAN CENTENNIAL ’67”. The included factory boxes are serialized to the rifles and reflect the configuration of both items.

Barrel Length: 26″ (RT01) and 20″ (RT02), Octagonal, With Full Length Magazine Tubes

Sights / Optics: The front sights are beaded blades, which are integral to bases that are dovetailed onto the barrels. The rear sights are “U” notched leafs that are micro-adjustable for elevation, on a slide-step elevator that is dovetailed onto the barrels.

Stock Configuration & Condition: RT01: The stocks are a two piece smooth walnut set. The forend has a black alloy forend cap; the forend is free of notable marks. The butt stock has a strait wrist and shows some scattered light to moderate depth compression marks. There are no cracks or chip losses. The LOP measures 13 3/8” from the front of the trigger to the back of the blued semi-crescent butt plate; the plate has but a few light marks, rating in Excellent condition. The stocks rate in about Excellent overall condition.
RT02: The stocks are a two piece smooth walnut set. The forend has a black alloy forend cap; the forend has a few extremely faint marks on the right side. The butt stock has a strait wrist and shows some scattered light marks; there is a notable compression on the right side of the wrist. There are no cracks or chip losses. The LOP measures 13 1/2” from the front of the trigger to the back of the blued semi-crescent butt plate; the plate has but a few light marks, rating in Excellent condition. The stocks rate in about Fine Plus to Excellent overall condition.

Type of Finish: The rifles are blued.

Finish Originality: Factory Original

Bore Condition: The bores are bright and the rifling is sharp; both rifles have a bore gauge M.E. reading of about 0.5. The rifling is sharp in both bores. There is no erosion.

Overall Condition: RT01: This rifle retains about 98% of its metal finish. The balance of the finish shows a few scattered light scuff marks and small marks on the underside of the lever plate. The receiver has extremely faint wispy scuffs. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are crisp. Overall, this rifle rates in about Excellent condition.
RT02: This rifle retains about 98% of its metal finish. The balance of the finish shows a few scattered light scuff marks and small marks on the underside of the lever plate; there is a small spot of wear on the barrel’s upper right shoulder. The receiver has extremely faint wispy scuffs. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are crisp. Overall, this rifle rates in about Excellent condition.

Mechanics: The actions function correctly. We have not fired these rifles. As with all previously owned firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: The rifles come with their original factory cardboard boxes that have end labels which are serialized to the rifles. The box for RT01 has some compression marks and scuffing; there is light green paint on the lid as photographed, rating in about Fine condition. The box for RT02 is missing its middle lid tab and some of the lid itself; there are tear marks on the front and a puncture on the rear narrow side, the box is in Good Plus to Very Good condition.

Our Assessment: This auction is for two Winchester 1894 Canadian Centennial ’64 lever action rifles that are consecutively serialized, sporting a 26″ and 20″ barrel. The stocks are free from major damages, the metal on both rifles retain about 98% of the blued finish and both items have bright bores with sharp rifling and no erosion. The original factory boxes are included, making this a great find for Winchester collectors and fans of Canada. Chambered in .30-30 Winchester, ammunition is abundantly available and has dropped more deer in America than any other round. Please see our pictures and good luck.
