Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked “.45 ACP”. The yoke cut is marked “CDZ5021 / 625-6” and the yoke is marked “610”. The left side of the grip frame is marked “A 19”. The butt is marked “CDZ 5021 ”. The right side of the grip frame is marked “2194” and “610”. The right side of the barrel is marked “MOUNTAIN GUN”. The right side of the frame is marked with the four line Marcas Registradas address. The side plate is marked with the S&W Trade Mark logo.

Barrel Length: 4” with 4/5 Length Underlug

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a serrated ramp pinned to an elevated base. The rear sight is an S&W micrometer click square notch leaf, adjustable for windage and elevation.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The one piece stippled rubber grip features finger grooves have finger grooves and a speed loader cut away on both sides. An S&W logo appears on both sides. Shallow abrasions appear on the smooth surfaces and little other evidence of use is visible. The grip rates in about Excellent overall condition.

Finish Originality: Factory Original

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore.

Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 98% of its metal finish. There is a little mark on the underlug, otherwise only shallow abrasions in the finish are evident, with a faint drag line on the cylinder. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this handgun rates in about Excellent condition.

Mechanics: The action functions Correctly in single and double action and the cylinder lock up is tight. We did not fire this handgun. As with all previously owned firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This revolver is accompanied by 15 moon clips, 4 half moon clips and one ‘demooner’ extraction tool, all in Excellent condition. The package is housed in a blue plastic S&W carrying case with a label on the end which reflects the model and serial number of the revolver. The case is in Fine condition. A S&W Safety, Instruction & Parts Manual for Revolvers is included, along with a blank product registration card, a copy of the ATF Youth Handgun Safety Act Notice, warranty documentation and a Laser Engraving brochure are included, all in Excellent condition.

Our Assessment: This is S&W Model 625-6 ‘Mountain Gun’ chambered in .45 ACP. 15 moon clips and a ‘demooner’ extraction tool are included. These revolvers had a somewhat limited production run, so they are a bit uncommon. This gun was relieved at the factory for use with moon clips and should also legal for Enhanced Revolver in IDPA. It is in Excellent condition and housed in an original S&W carrying case. The .45 ACP chambering makes this revolver a perfect companion to your 1911.
