Our Assessment: The Blaser Model R84 rifles are known for their ease of barrel interchangeability and their sub minute of arc accuracy. They have unusual features for a hunting rifle such as a floating barrel and a safety that locks both the bolt and firing pin. This model was built only for a few short years between 1988 and 1994, when it was replaced by a sporting version of the R-93 sniper rifle. With a scope mounted on the rear of the barrel, there is no need to re-zero the scope when switching scoped barrels on the same rifle. This rifle looks as though it was taken out and fired a few times, and then stored away. The rifle is in Excellent condition with light marks on the underside of the receiver and trigger guard, and a few small marks in the .30-06 and .243 barrels It really looks great with its blued barrel and satin receiver, and the satin finish on the scope provides even more contrast. Besides looking good, it only weighs 6 3/4lbs., so it isn’t going to break your back if you carry it all day. With this three barrel package, you can hunt anything from varmints to elk, and be assured you have the perfect caliber for the specific game you are going after. This is a great package for a hunter who would prefer one extremely well made and accurate rifle to three separate rifles.
