The butt stock has several mars on the checkering of the left side of the pistol grip and several more at the lower left and underside of the stock. The LOP measures 13 5/8” from the front of the trigger to the back of the wood and 14 ¼” to the back of the black, recoil pad which is still pliable. The drop at the comb is about 1 15/32” and about 2 3/16” at the heel. The owner’s manual states the stock is cast off 3/16” at the heel and 5/16” at the toe. The stocks rate in about Very Good overall condition.

Overall Condition: This shotgun retains about 98% of its metal finish. The balance of the finish shows light handling marks. The trigger is gold colored. The markings are clear. Overall, this shotgun rates in about Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We have not fired this shotgun.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: There are a host of accessories with this shotgun. To begin with, it comes in a bright red Perazzi marked hard case with three combination locked latches and a compartmentalized interior to hold the shotgun’s receiver/butt stock, barrels/forearm and Perazzi choke tubes and tools. The interior is a padded, blue velour material with the word “Perazzi” imprinted in the fabric. The case is in Excellent condition, showing only very minor handling marks. Two Perazzi marked gray cloth drawstring pouches are provided, one for the receiver/stock and the other for the barrels/forearm. Each of the pouches has a little over 1” long tear and can only be regarded as being in Good to Good Plus overall condition. A red handled, Perazzi marked stock removal tool is fitted into its own compartment in the case. A sealed tube of Perazzi special anti-gall lubricant is provided. The Owner’s Manual is provided in a red nylon case with black trim. Also in the case are a Perazzi marked silicone gun cloth, red plastic certificate of warranty marked with the appropriate serial number, a Perazzi patch, an oval Perazzi sticker and what we think is a white Perazzi window sticker. A fitted red plastic Perazzi box is provided that includes replacement flat hammer springs, a hammer spring tool and two extra firing pins with coil compression springs. Another fitted red plastic Perazzi box is provided with a choke wrench tool and number 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10 marked choke tubes. These range from quarter choke to full choke in constriction. All of the above accessories are in Fine to Excellent overall condition.
Our Assessment: This 20 gauge Perazzi MX8 shotgun is marked in the owner’s manual as being a “CACCIA” version model (roughly translated as “hunting” or “game” in English.) Since the MX8 is a competition style shotgun for Perazzi, we believe that “cassia” refers to the style of forearm which is how the forearm is marked in the owner’s manual. They appear to offer forearms in Beavertail, Round, Schnabel and Game. The shotgun comes to us set up choked roughly Skeet & Skeet, which we believe is what the gun was used for. Perazzi is sometimes considered the Ferrari of Italian shotguns and seems to share the same affinity for the color RED! This is truly a finely made, 20 gauge Italian Over/Under, capable of holding its own in any Skeet or Sporting Clays competition.
