Action Type: Single Shot Bolt Action Pistol Markings: The tip of the barrel is scroll engraved with an ornate design as well as the back end of the barrel and the receiver. The top of the barrel is marked “257”. The left side of the receiver is marked “B7513294” and “Remington / Model XP-100”. The back side of the receiver under the bolt is stamped with an “S”. The right side of the scope mount is marked with an “R” in crosshairs. Barrel Length: The ported octagonal barrel is 15” in length. There are 2 slits on each side of the barrel. Sights / Optics: This pistol is mounted with a Leupold scope on a one piece Redfield mount. The scope is blued and marked “Leupold” and at the objective with “M8-2X Extended E.R.” The reticle is a full duplex. The scope is free of marks except for some deep gouges on the right side of the eyepiece. The lenses are clear and free of distortion. Overall, the scope rates in about Fine condition. There is no provision for mounting iron sights. Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is custom checkered walnut with a beautiful marbled grain. It has a thumbhole pistol grip with a flared rosewood bottom cap with a lighter colored spacer which matches the forend tip’s spacer. Please see our pictures to see how beautiful this stock looks. There are only a very few light handling marks on this stock – on the bottom of the grip cap and on the knob at the back of the stock. However, there is a small tab in front of the safety that has broken off and been glued back on. There is a small amount of glue residue on the tab. The stock rates in about Excellent overall condition with the exception of the small chip at the safety. Type of Finish: The barrel and receiver are blued and engraved. The bolt is jeweled with an “In the White” bolt handle. Finish Originality: All Original Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore. Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 98% of its metal finish. The only noticeable wear is on the plastic safety lever and the bottom edge of the ejection area, which both show a few marks. The screw heads are bruised. The markings are clear. Overall, this handgun rates in about Excellent condition. Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The trigger is crisp and light. We did not fire this handgun. Box, Paperwork & Accessories: The gun comes with a black Kolpin gun bag with brown cloth interior, external Velcro side pocket and leather handles. The bag has no rips, tears nor stains. The zipper is intact. The bag is in Fine condition. Our Assessment: This is a beautifully engraved bolt action pistol with a custom thumbhole stock.
