Built to mount directly to your Remington 700 short or long actions, the 20 MOA taper maximizes internal adjustment. The Direct Mount ensures true alignment and maximum strength for precision shooting. Like all Nightforce mounts, it incorporates an integral recoil lug which prevents any movement of the base or stress on the screws attaching the Direct Mount to the receiver. It is the ultimate in a weight-saving one-piece design.” All you need to do is order yourself up the best in optics and you are ready to go. The rings are 1 1/8” inside diameter.

Stock Configuration & Condition: To insure stability under the harshest conditions, the action is custom bedded in a McMillan A3 series stock with adjustable length of pull and adjustable comb. The trigger is externally adjustable for trigger pull weight. This rifle is one of the finest tactical rifles available today and in one of the most desirable calibers for long range shooting. The only imperfection to the stock is near the thumb screw to adjust the height of the comb where you can see a little fiberglass poking through. Our Assessment: This is the finest rifle we have ever seen Remington produce. The .338 Lapua Magnum is a specialized rimless bottlenecked centerfire cartridge developed for military long-range sniper rifles. The Afghanistan War and Iraq War made it a combat-proven round. The .338 Lapua is a dual-purpose anti-personnel and anti-materiel round. The loaded cartridge is 0.588” in diameter and 3.68” long. It can penetrate better-than-standard military body armor at ranges up to 1,000 yards and has a maximum effective range of about 1,900 yds. Muzzle velocity is dependent on load and powder temperature and varies from 2,900 to 3,000 ft/s for commercial loads with 16.2-gram (250 gr) bullets, which results in about 6,525 J (4,813 ft/lbs.) of muzzle energy. So if you’re looking for the next best thing to a 50 BMG then this is it!
