Markings: The left side of the slide is marked “40 S&W”. The left side of the frame is marked “DESERT EAGLE PISTOL / ISRAEL MILITARY INDUSTRIES LTD. (I.M.I.)”. The right side of the frame is marked “WARNING READ MANUAL / BEFORE OPERATING” / “155289 / MAGNUM RESEARCH INC. / MPLS MN USA” and “MADE IN ISRAEL H3”. Both grip panels bear the IMI logo.

Barrel Length: 4 1/4”

Sights / Optics: The front sight is single white dot on a blade. The rear is a two white dot square notch, both the front and rear sight are dovetailed into the slide.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are plastic panels with the IMI logo in the center of a pebbled texture area. The grips show light drag lines throughout. There are no chips or cracks. There are molding lines around the grip screw and logos, this comes from the factory. There are no chips or cracks. The grips rate in about Fine overall condition.

Finish Originality: Original

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore, some stubborn fouling is present.

Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 95% of its metal finish. There is light edge wear present mostly near the front corner of the frame. Light handling and storage marks are present with light drag lines on the slide and frame surfaces. The markings are clear. The screw heads are sharp. Overall, this pistol rates in about Fine condition.

Mechanics: The action functions Correctly. We did not fire this handgun.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: The original serial number matching box is included with this pistol. The original manuals and paperwork are included as well. The box shows edge wear with folding and minor ripping of the cardboard. The box rates in about Good overall condition. One twelve round magazine is included with this pistol, we will only ship the magazine to Legal states. The magazine shows little to no wear with only a few small marks in the blued finish.

Our Assessment: This gun goes by a few different names depending on who you are talking to and the importer. We have heard of these guns being called the “Baby Eagle” or the “Jericho 941”. This gun is simply marked “Desert Eagle Pistol” and that is what we are going to call it. The gun looks a lot like the CZ 75 with similar controls. The .40 S&W caliber is popular for international travel and carry because of the restriction on Military calibers. The .40 S&W does not qualify. The pistol looks great and has beautiful lines, given the name on the slide and frame there shouldn’t be any trouble with it either. Buy nice guns from reputable manufacturers and you can never go wrong.
