Markings: The left of the barrel is marked “CAL. 300 Win. Mag. MADE IN FINLAND” and with a Finnish proof. The left of the receiver is marked “SAKO TRG-42” with the serial number and a Finnish proof. The bottom of the bolt handle is hand marked “477”. The right of the barrel is marked with Beretta U.S.A.’s warning and import mark.

Barrel Length: 27″ Heavy Barrel With Clamp-On Muzzle Brake

Sights / Optics: The top of the receiver is grooved to accept scope mounts and is also drilled and tapped to accept a rail mount. A 6 1/4″ picatinny rail is installed. There is no provision for iron sights.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is a gren synthetic with beavertail forend inletted for an 8″ accessory rail, pistol grip, adjustable comb, adjustable buttplate/pad, and sling studs mounted on each side of the buttstock, one installed in the accessory rail on the bottom of the forend, and another mounted under the free-floated barrel with the stud on the left of the barrel at the front of the forend. The stock has a few scattered light scuffs, the most notable being at the bottom-rear of the scoop in the belly. Otherwise, there are only light handling marks. There are no chips or cracks. The LOP measures 14” from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttpad. The pad shows little to no wear. The stocks rate in about Fine-Excellent overall condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion.

Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 95% of its metal finish. The barrel has some scattered light scuffs with only a few small marks through the matte finish. The receiver shows light operational wear from the bolt, concealed while assembled, otherwise having only light handling marks. The exposed portions of the stock’s alloy bedding block have some light marks on the edges. The bolt body shows light operational wear. The screw heads are undamaged and the markings are clear. Overall, this rifle rates in Very Good-Fine condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The bolt moves smoothly. The safety is a paddle inside the trigger guard which can be pulled to the rear for safe and pushed forward for fire. The magazine release is a paddle at the rear of the magazine well. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This rifle comes with a single 5-round magazine. The magazine has very faint operational wear with intact feed lips and a strong spring, in about Fine condition. A manual is also included.

The bolt lift is at a 60° angle for fast bolt throw.” This TRG 42 is in Very Good-Fine condition with some light marks in the barrel and light operational wear.
