Markings: The receiver has Grade I engraving with “BROWNING / Citori” on the bottom, gold-filled Browning Buck Mark on the trigger guard and “13090PX1B3” on the top tang. The top of the forend iron is marekd “13090”. The right of the top barrel on each set is marked “SPECIAL STEEL 12 GA – 2 3/4″ – 26″” with the appropriate gauge on each barrel set and the .410 chamber length “2 1/2″”, the left fo the top barrel on each set is marked “BROWNING ARMS COMPANY MORGAN, UTAH & MONTREAL, P.Q. / MADE IN JAPAN”. The bottom-left of each monoblock is marked “13090”. The left of each barrel above and below the ejector is marked “**$” (skeet choke).

Barrel Length: 26″, Vent-Rib

Choke: The barrels are all choked Skeet.

Sights / Optics: Each barrel set has a white bead in a base at the front of the rib with a smaller white mid-bead. The top of each rib is finely serrated in a wavy pattern to reduce glare.

Weight: The weight varies from 7 lb. 14 oz. (12 & 28) to 8 lb 1.1 oz (.410)

Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are two piece checkered walnut with beavertail forend, flat-bottom pistol grip, adjustable comb and ventilated black rubber Pachmayr White Line recoil pad mounted to an adjustable buttplate. The stocks have a few scattered light marks, the most notable in the comb and on the bottom-front of the grip. The checkering is sharp. There are no chips or cracks in the stocks. Drop at the front of the comb is 1 1/2”, 1 3/4″ at the rear, drop at heel is 1 3/4”. The LOP measures 13 1/8″ from the front of the gold-plated trigger to the back of the recoil pad, 11 3/8″ to the back of the wood. The plate is still supple showing light wear in the face. The stocks rate in about Fine overall condition as modified.

Bore Condition: The bores are bright. There is no erosion in the bores.

Overall Condition: This shotgun retains about 98% of its metal finish showing only a few light marks scattered throughout the four barrel sets and receiver. Otherwise, there are only light handling marks and light operational wear. The screw-heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this shotgun set rates in about Excellent condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly with all of the barrel sets including ejectors. The shotgun features a single selective trigger and ejectors. The action closes with a satisfying ‘clunk’ with each set, resulting in zero movement between the barrels and frame. We have not fired this shotgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This shotgun comes in a brown hard-sided Browning carry case with brass fixtures and brown plush interior. The case has light wear on the interior from the contents with only a few light marks on the exterior, in about Fine condition.

Our Assessment: The Citori has been a mainstay of Browning’s over-under shotgun line since it took over for the Superposed. With its classic Browning styling, high quality construction and robust design, it has taken a prized place on the skeet, trap and sporting clays ranes as well as hunting fields around the world. This example is a wonderful package, a four-gauge skeet set. With everything you need to switch between 12, 20, 28 and .410 gauge all in serial-matching 26″ Skeet choked barrels which match up to the stock assembly with the same LOP and drop for each gauge. For the avid skeet shooter, there may not be a finer production skeet set available. This example is in Excellent condition with light wear in the stocks but little in the metal, tight lockups and bright bores. Please see our photos and good luck!
