Markings: The barrel is marked “Anshutz Model 1422 / Cal. .22 long rifle”. The receiver is marked “1297094 J.G. Anshutz GmbH Ulm West-Germany”.

Sights / Optics: This rifle is mounted with iron sights and scope mounts. There is a front protected beaded post and a rear flip up sight in a dovetail slot. There are 1” rings mounted on claw mounts installed and provided with this rifle. The mounts show little use and just minimal handling marks.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are checkered one piece wood nicely grained with cheekpiece, pistol grip and right side palm swell. The checkering is sharp. There are no cracks or losses and again only minimal handling marks. The LOP measures approx. 14” to the back of the plastic buttplate. The stocks rate in about Excellent overall condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp (for this type of rifle). There is no erosion.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 99% of its metal finish. The balance of the finish shows the tiniest of marks at the ejection port and some scratching on the bolt. The Screw heads are sharp and not disfigured. The markings are clear. Overall, this rifle rates in about Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this rifle.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: Two magazines are provided. There is documentation provided: 1) the test target for this rifle with matching serial number which shows a ¾” group at 50 meters. Wow! 2) an owner’s manual and 3) sales brochure. Sling swivels are installed.
Our Assessment: We have seen “target” rifles that don’t shoot this good and don’t look this good. This will be a family heirloom rifles to pass down through the generations. This s a high quality Excellent condition rifle. This is a fabulous find. Here is your Christmas present!!
